Packing Attempt 3

So to give you an idea of my packing struggles here shows my attempt at packing for the third time. Note the scales near by used to assess just how heavy it was getting. Hopefully i wont be needing to do this anytime soon...

Not Long Now

So the time I thought would never arrive has now started to. The realisation that I am packing up and shipping out came last Wednesday when I bid a sad farewell to by beloved 1971 VW Beetle. Whilst she done the hard yards with me over the past seven years and had more rust than car in her, she will be very missed. No more putt-putt down the driveway. Luckily she has gone to a good home in the Central Coast and her new owners have kindly given me their email address so I can contact them to see how the restoration is going.

On to more positive chit chat, I have less than two weeks to go before I find myself a resident of Edinburgh and no longer one of Australia. For how long you ask? Well I don't know. That will depend on many things. Mainly...will someone employ me!! Yes please! As time steam rolls ahead i start to think about what I'll miss and what i wont. So what I'll miss?
  • Family!!
  • Friends
  • My Tiggy & T.C
  • My own bed
  • Sunshine (I may get a day here or there, fingers crossed)
  • Fresh food....oh and not to forget....Milo!
  • My waterpolo ladies
  • The beach
  • My sewing machine
For every thing I will miss there are some things I wont miss. Mainly, work! Hopefully on that front I will be on greener pastures. Although I will miss Monzi and Kimbo. :) Even if that means a job I'd never imagined that I'd be doing. Having never been to the UK I'm not sure what I am excited about experiencing the most. Just traveling in it self will be great and the opportunity to meet heaps of new people. I've even considered taking up Underwater Hockey as a means to replace my water sports habit.

I've already started the job hunt. I have an interview lined up to work as a High Street Steward during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It will just be temp work but it will at least get my some money when i get there, so fingers crossed. I have applied for a few positions but feel my best job hunting will be had once I get over there and can start banging down recruitment doors.

I'm not too concerned about finding a place to live. There are thousands of listings in Edinburgh. I hope to find a flat share with a like-minded female who can potentially be a friend and not just a flat mate. I'm conscious of not being ripped off by Council Tax and will have to have a place with WiFi so I can test out by new web cam with my folks and friends back home. It's crazy just how accessible I will be when I'm over there. If it's not my blog, it'll be my Facebook, and if it's not Facebook, I can Skype you, and if all else fails, well i'll Tweet. Phew.

Last but not least, I cannot wait to just sit in the pub over there with a pint and listen to Scottish people talk. :)

Till next time.....
